Chinese Tablet

Hi my name is Luis, I'm brazilian and new to the android forums community!!
Heres the problem, my father in law bought this crappy chinese tablet over the internet for $150, he kinda gave it to me after using it for half an hour cuz he didnt like it.
the problem is that very few apps and features work on it, for example, can't watch youtube videos, log in on facebook (only when using the browser, not the native facebook app).
this isnt my first android device, i also bear a android smartphone which runs android 2.1, and the market of both are completely different!! the tablets market cant find any of the apps I already have installed on my phone. instead, it shows some weird looking chinese apps.
the tablet runs android 2.2, but i think its some sort of chinese version of it i dunno.
so my question is if its possible to install idk an american version on this tablet... idk the model or brand of the tablet.
if i can do so, how should I start?

Alo Luis Farina desde o Mexico, como vai? tudo bom? I have the same tablet, and yes you can run you tube videos. I suggest you download the dolphin browser which you can get from the site freewarelovers which has lots of android software. you can download the browser called opera and you will be able to see many sites, also the facebook page you can load it thru the standard browser. It is a nice tablet but is very delicate, I opened mine up and its built very badly. Mine doesnt charge the battery and Im still going thru it trying to figure it out. let me know if you need any more help.
