Choosing a new ROM

Hello,
My Galaxy Ace is going really slow and I need to choose which ROM I will install.
Anyone have advice on which ROM to go with?
David

Hi, I believe that you wont get an answer to that.
We all have opinions but nobody knows whats the best.
You can start to see what others have in signature and take a look on that. The rom's differ in battery life, speed, freedom to change characteristics, etc.
So you must know what you want to get the right rom

qashqool is right, nobody can tell you which rom to use because every rom has some best features and some bad ones, its depends on which features are a priority for you. You will just have to read the rom description and read some of the reviews by other users and decide which one you want.

Considering that you are having performance issues with your current setup then i would recommend you go for CM7.2 based roms or any other gingerbread based roms, the ICS and JB roms will never give you good performance on this device.

All of the above and here's a decent read,

DroidViews | Best Custom ROMs for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i

This is for my S5830i

I'm presently happy with my official but rooted Gingerbread 2.3.6.Using a partitioned 32 gig SD 10 Speed and Link2SD.With Root and link2SD you can freeze apps that you don't use often and then re enable when you need them to save resources.

I've downloaded the ACE-I-sure rom for my phone and had a look inside the zip and it would install Google play etc if I decided to use it.

I use CWM to keep a couple of up-to-date copies of my present setup and a copy of my SD card on my laptop.

HTH :)

Just for future reference the S5830 is completely different from the S5830i just in case people are following this procedure. I bricked my phone following this.
