Anyone else notice laggy/choppy facebook when scrolling up and down the app? Also sometimes on some sites using chrome too.

Wondering if i should try a factory reset but to think about setting everything up again...

Are you having issues scrolling in apps like FB and Chrome when using both WiFi and mobile data, or just one or the other? It almost sounds like a bandwidth speed issue rather than something more extreme than doing a Factory Reset.

Im on WiFi, no issues with bandwidth. Tried Facebook lite and its definitely smoother. Also stock internet browser is smoother than chrome.

No one else have these issues? Facebook alone aint worth me doing a factory reset but it annoys me considering the specs of the phone..

It has to be how samsung deals with facebook app cachig or something because when i scroll its choppy but then if i go back up and scroll again (what has already loaded) its not choppy anymore.

Has no one else experienced this at all?

Actually noticing this on other apps too like linkedin, instagram and sometimes chrome. I just dont see how a factory reset could solve this but its the only thing i can think of doing..

For the record...i did a reset, didnt solve the problem.

facebook ALWAYS causes problems. I lose count how many times i see someone having an "issue" with the facebook app.

as a test, try the internet browser and scroll and use the facebook website and see if you still see the lag.

i use instagram and linkedin and do not experience ANY lag on either app--and i have them stored on the SD card. i don't use facebook (with pleasure) so i cant comment on it.

Spot on..in chrome facebook is super smooth.

Actually ive done loads of research on this now..these little things annoy me so until i get a definitive answer i dont stop... Anyway what i have found is that its a problem with refresh rates.

In simple terms, our phone is too damn good and powerful, so much so that the facebook app cant keep up with it. The content that needs to be rendered cant keep up with the refresh rates of the processor which is why it works well on older/slower phones ironically and after its been cached.

This also explains why it works well in chrome since chrome seems more efficient at handling the 'power' of the note 8 conpared to the facebook app.

Anyway, ive gone through all this and a complete factory reset so no one else has too
