Amphlett death leaves rock world mourning, but celebrating magic touch
Chrissy Amphlett, who died in New York on Sunday aged 53, from the effects of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis, ''terrified'' audiences at times.
But while she was developing her famously vampish on-stage persona the whole band was having a ball, Divinyls' bassist Rick Grossman remembers.
''It was great being in the band with her. We just had our mouths open [in shock] the whole time. And she'd throw us a look back that said 'what the hell am I doing?'''
But it was all her, never faked. ''She was a brutally honest person, someone who always called me on my behaviour but, at the same time, was very protective of me
