Help Chrome PC question - Can I share bookmarks but not history?

I use Chrome on my laptop at home as well as on my pc at work (my only other browser available at work is IE which I hate). I like how Chrome lets me easily access my home bookmarks at work & work bookmarks at home - but I don't like that the history of what I've looked at when I was at home shows up in my history when I'm at work. Assuming our IT dept. ever decides to snoop around, I don't want them to see that I googled any personal/random stuff that I might look at while I'm at home.

Is there any way to share bookmarks but not the history of what I've looked at? Or is there some other way to EASILY accomplish the shared bookmarks (while keeping them synced)? I know I can "browse privately" & delete my history, but that's a lot of work. I'd rather just keep my home browsing history separate but keep using Chrome if I can.

Any suggestions?

From your Chrome browser go to the "hamburger" (three horizontal bars) on the upper right corner and click settings. Under the first option for sign in, there's an advanced sync setting which let's you choose what to sync. Uncheck history and you should be fine. :)

I've done that both at home & at work, it wasn't working on my work PC because when I'd look at history I was still seeing where I'd visited from my home laptop. But now it seems like it is working right, & I haven't changed a thing... I'll have to wait until Monday when I'm back at work again to confirm.
