Chromecast + Bias Light?

Has anyone tried, whether successful or not, to use a USB splitter to connect a Chromecast and power a bias light at the same time? I'm hoping to get this set up without having to run another wire through my wall to an already full surge protector.

Putting your Chromecast and your Bias Light(s) on a shared USB splitter will work out BUT is does depend on what that USB splitter itself is plugged into. If it's being fed by a device it's dependent on how much current that device supplies to it's USB ports, if it's plugged into a USB hub it needs to be a powered hub (with a power adapter, not plugged into a device port). Only by my own experience but I've found powering my Chromecast by its power adapter to be more reliable.
