Chromecast Compatible Apps

Beware The Milky Pirate!
This list is by no means complete, but I'll do what I can to keep it up to date.

If you know of any more, please let me know and I'll add them to the list.

Podcast Addict available thru app for over 3 weeks now. I just remembered I had an account to this forum.

Not any more! An update is rolling out today, casting is available for anyone who's paid for the app! :)
That's not entirely true. Yes, you need the app to cast from your phone, but you can cast directly from the web interface as well, regardless of being a Plexpass subscriber.

Hoopla Digital is a free service but you do need a valid Library Card to sign in (so 'free' to use but the service is paid for by your local library, which means you are kinda, sorta paying for it through your taxes). Not every library subscribes with Hoopla but the numbers are continuously increasing. There's Chromecast support for movies but you can 'digitally borrow' a lot of other content -- ebooks, comics, and music -- that you can also access on your smartphone.

Just downloaded Music Player Remix as Pro Player isn't able to cast and Google music gives me an error saying can't play side loaded music, which is crap.

So hopefully Music Player Remix works. I'll have to try it later when I'm in that room with my Chromecast Audio.
