Chromecast hates 4G LTE?

I can only get internet here in the woods one of two ways. 1) prohibitively expensive satellite internet, or from a Verizon Jetpack Mifi. I chose the latter. I also got a Chromecast to play my Play Movies content to my 32" Samsung Smart TV, which has everything except Google Play built-in. The device either freezes or goes into a rebuffer loop where it will play five seconds, pause for a minute, play five more seconds and pause again. Sometimes it dies at a black screen instead of connecting to the Movies app properly requiring a power cycle. All this on an otherwise stable 5mbps 4G LTE data connection

But...

If I switch the mifi to EVDO ONLY (3G) it works perfectly. Plays well and even at 1080p. What gives? Browsing the web and downloads through Play Store are dial-up like. Speed test shows a lousy 70kbps download and 1mbps upload and a horridly latent 500ms ping. But the Chromecast works fine. Switch to 4G again, everything else works but the Chromecast freezes and pauses again. I don't get it.

So? i got decent bandwidth, and great stability over 4G but Chromecast dies with it. switch to dial-up speeds of 3G the Chromecast works fine. it's almost as if it cannot handle the speeds! i'm happy i can use it but constantly switching from 3G to 4G is a pain. i don't get why the slower speeds seem to make it work better but super fast 4G won't.

I'm not sure if the problem lies within the Chromecast or with the Mifi device and Verizon. For now, I moved this to the Chromecast forum to see if other owners can shed light on it. If it is determined to be a VZW issue, we'll just move it over there.:)
