I've emailed the developer of the app RaceChrono but they haven't responded so I'm hoping someone here could help me.
I race circle dirt track and I got to thinking about how I could log my performance week to week when I make changes to see if I got faster or slower. I love the RaceChrono app but there's just a couple things I feel it could use in conjunction with what it already has. Currently I am running 3 apps at the same time to collect all the data I want during a race. One app logs my lap times, GPS speed and GPS location (not really needed in circle track, but cool). Another app logs my G-forces, and the 3rd app is my video camera.
RaceChrono has an awesome baseline and I feel could be easily modified to fit these added features. My favorite thing about the app is that it stores my sessions and I can go back and review them moment-to-moment with GPS on the top half and my speed graph on the bottom. If I could overlay my video instead of the GPS tracking with the speed graph, I could see what line I took and maybe improve my driving. Also have a G sensor readout in the middle of the screen too so I can confirm if my driving/setup is improving or getting worse. Another feature that I'm unable to find a way to test would be the possibility of recording using front and rear cameras at the same time so I could watch to see where people are catching me, in the corners or on the straights.
I have some other small tweak suggestions but we can discuss those if you feel like this is something up your alley.
