Clear to begin running LTE and WiMax together?

more options yes, but sprint would be smart to stick with Wimax, and allow LTE compatibility in concert with Wimax.

LTE is specific to cell phones, whereas Wimax is going to be the wireless internet standard for a majority of devices needing internet in the future (ie: automobiles, home WISP providers, etc)

LTE only has the bandwidth to handle the data cell phones would generate & use.

Wimax has the ability & bandwidth to allow cell phone internet, home wireless internet, VOIP phone service and then some all at once on the same signal... something LTE only wishes it could do.

Allowing both would allow a handset to be compatible across a broader range of uses and allow it to be both backwards and forwards compatible with almost any internet enabled device (not just cell phones) as wimax continues to become the standard in the US for wireless internet.
