Clearing old tablet

I am getting a new (Samsung) tablet today, replacing my old (Acer) one. The old one is running KitKat.

I believe I can transfer data and apps using a backup & restore app. My question is: how do I delete my Google account, history, etc, before giving the old tablet to someone else?

Just Factory Reset it and will be fine. Obviously, if you have an SD card in the old one, remove that too.

Unless they have forensic level data recovery tools, a factory reset is all you need.

I didn't make myself clear. I only want to delete my accounts and history. I want to leave most of the apps on the tablet ready for my husband to use. He is already set up on the the tablet as a user.

Ah ok. I think you can just delete the account from Settings -> Accounts -> Google -> Account name -> Remove Account. It may take the apps installed with that account with it though (it's been a while since I've done that). If there are any paid apps, they certainly wouldn't work after the account was removed.

I think he'll have to reload those apps KathyJM. Factory reset wipes apps off.

Your apps aren't his apps.

Do you share the same credit/debit card? That might make a difference.
