Help Clearing the dalvik cache

Hi,
Deleting data/dalvik-cache isn't working . I did it just like chismays ultimate guide v.1 said to do.

1. Go to data/dalvik-cache. delete all the files,
2. After deleting files I restarted my phone and after that I went to Settings --> Applications and my internal memory was as low as it was before i deleted data/dalvik-cache files?!
Please Help! I really need more internal memory space.

PS. I used Root Browser.

Use clockworkmod to clear dalvik cache. Clearing Dalvik cache won't improve internal memory very much. It will get rebuilt. I suggest you to use titanium backup to move all apps to sd, which will increase free internal memory greatly!
