Clearwire moving away from retail, will concentrate on network wholesale business

Though it apparently doesn't have any plans in place to close its existing 140 stores around the country,

The Wall Street Journal is reporting this evening that network operator Clearwire is halting its direct retail strategy to concentrate on selling the use of its airwaves to other providers --

Clear has done a good job of getting Wimax rolled out. They should stick to selling capacity, rather than being a direct retailer, which they are not so good at.

Furthermore, Clear is ******ed for competing against their own largest partner: Sprint. That's just bad business.
