Help Clipboard Copy/Paste no longer working...and a few other issues.

This is my 2nd S3 and I guess I hadn't had the 1st one long enough for the Clipboard to tap out. I can highlight the text and when I press copy or cut it seems to transfer to the clipboard. BUT when I go to paste, I see one highlight arrow and the clipboard icon in the upper-left part of the screen. I assumed clicking on the icon would open up the clipboard but it doesn't. This happens every time, regardless of the apps I'm using. I Googled and it seems that after a few months lots of people have the same problem. From what I read, there is no known fix, unless your phone is rooted or you don't mind doing a complete Factory Reset. My phone is not rooted so i guess I'm stuck doing the latter if I absolutely have to.

Has anyone been able to fix this problem? I remember there was an app I had on my Inspire where I could access the Boot screen, internal "Administrative Tools" or something like that. I believe it gave me the ability to root without actually rooting. Anybody know the name or using a similar app?

Another concern is that I recently purchased another phone and using the same main Google account for both. However, I'm playing a Garfield Diner game on my S3 that I'm addicted to and spent a fair amount of money buying points to upgrade various things within the game.
If I download the game onto my HTC One V will it have saved my progress and I can continue where I left off ? And if I have to reset my S3, will the game sync or will I have to start from the very beginning (God I hope not)?

The last of my issues is many of the apps randomly close, esp. the Camera. Any idea of what may be causing all the issues listed. I do have a Hyperion extended battery, which I love and the force closing and slow booting of apps was happening before I began using it. Thanks.
