Root Clockwork mod help!

Ok so i have the mytouch 3g no headphone jack. And i rooted my phone for the first time. So i managed to get super froyo on and everythings fine. well then i looked on rom manager and i flash clockwork mod. however, whenever i try to boot with clockworkMod on it just stays on the green mytouch 3g screen. What i want to know is how to flash a new recovery and what will be the best custom rom for the MT3G because super froyo doesnt even let me have the google play market.
 
I've never heard of SuperFroyo, so Idk if that might be the problem, but here is a link that should get you up and running, if you don't want to flash cyanogenmod 7, you can use adb and the links on the bottom to download a new custom recovery.
