Root ClockWorkMod backup folder

I did a backup and rooted my device recently, and now I find that my storage has been filled up. There's only about 4% left of my 1.6 GiB! So, I dug around to see what was taking up all that space. It was the Clockworkmod folder; specifically, a ton of "blob" files, which I found out is how CWM keeps backups. Wanting my space back, I copied the CWM folder over to my PC, and then went into CWM, deleted the backup, and freed the space.

My question is: can I still restore from my backup? I have the blobs and other backup files stored on my PC now. Is it as simple as copying them back over?

When you need to restore a nandroid backup, you just have to copy the file back from your PC to your phone. You would need to make space for it.

You really need a bigger SD card. Then you wouldn't need to move files around

Thanks. I'm realizing that very quickly!

So, I could install a different ROM, and then use the backup if I needed to revert to the original ROM?

Yes. It's always recommended to keep a nandroid backup. If possible, nandroid backup every time you flash a new ROM to keep something just in case. Also, nandroid backup the stock Samsung Galaxy Exhibit ROM that came with the phone.

Also, check out the "swap SD" app that is only for the Exhibit. It's in the XDA forums in the Galaxy Exhibit 4G forum section

How big is the SD card in your phone?

Does CWM back up the ROM automatically when you use its backup feature?

How big is the SD card in your phone?

I don't think it came with an SD...the specs say it has 4 GiB internal, but I'm only seeing 1.6.

So you didn't put in an sd card at all? You may want to get one especially if flashing roms. The internal memory isn't a full 4gb
