Close Apps and Snooze Alarm

I'm using a Droid RAZR M Android version 4.42 with Verizon ...

1. When I am done with an app and close it, it remains "open" until I tap the bottom right icon (2 rectangles superimposed on each other) and that's where i can swipe the app(s) and close them for good. However, especially when on the road, I sometimes forget to do that 2nd step and that's when I'm on 4G and it eats up my battery.

IS THERE AN APP I CAN INSTALL or a better way to close an app without having to go thru that 2nd step?

2. Snooze alarm. considering I'm sound asleep when my alarm goes off, every now and then I will inadvertantly swipe something wrong and then I can't get my alarm to shut off at all! How do I get back to hit the snooze? I've ended up having to just dismss the alarm altogether by "down swiping" from the top to show the open apps but then I lose my snooze capability and I prefer to snooze for about 30 minutes before I actually crawl outta bed. So now I have 2 alarm times set ... so hence my question. lol.

1. If you press the back button to get out of the app, or use the exit button if the app has one, it won't use battery. Even if you don't do that second step. That list you see is a history of apps you opened. Kind of like a browser history, but for apps. You don't have to swipe them out of there at all.

2. Depends on the alarm clock app used I'm afraid. On a Samsung, the pull down shade has a snooze button if an alarm is ringing.
