this is my first post in this forum so hello everyone.
So i got this LG l70 recently and Downgraded it back to b F/W to root and unlock the bootloader as i was very excited to have a phone that i would be able to flash my first custom ROM to and i settled for the PAC-man ROM here http://androidforums.com/threads/unofficial-d320n-d325-ms323-kk-pac-man-rom-28-08-2015.889957/ . As i got familiar with it i was having a weird tiny issue where facebook kept saying everything was posted Just now so i decided to delete it and re-install it but i didn't unlink it from LINK2SD....HUGE mistake
Once i deleted it from the app info page and tons of error messages flooded the screen saying multiple processes have crashed and did it after rebooting as soon as the OS loaded every time. which is where i found out i could not boot into recovery from power off (or i failed doing the button combo but i thought i got the double vibes) with TWRP 2.8.7.0 included in the ROM post. my fastboot worked but doing the command ./fastboot reboot recovery didn't work i think i was supposed to do ./fastboot boot recovery? -- before posting i tried it myself and the command ./fastboot boot recovery.img was what did the trick
But anyway i was able to use adb while booting and was able to boot to recovery. Then i had the a huge panic when the backup i made prior to using LINK2SD failed restoring Data something about failed with ERROR=255 with 15% battery! So now with no way back into recovery(or so I think) if i reboot I break out the Google-Fu and read on another post here that it "should" work if i flashed each part individually so i did all besides Data and being unsure I also did a factory reset before i left recovery and bam boots up like a charm. #WInning
Theres a couple things id like to know just out of conversation and educating myself and maybe it will help someone too.
Most importantly I don't know if i can trust this recovery or was the issue with Link2SD rearranging how the data partition is read? I wonder if the backup would have worked if i did it after installing Link2sd. before i do it again i'm probably going to flash another version .
Also I understand this was because i deleted the app without unlinking it but why would it break the system UI?
And when i did a factory reset was i supposed to re-flash Gapps? I've noticed i have more memory and way less apps than when i flashed it and the ROM
...I cant think of any other questions now but anything you want to chat about the ROM subject is more than welcome.
