Root CM10 and Aroma questions

I flashed Cyanogen Mod 10 to my Exhibit II, and most things worked, but the phone was not one of those things. So I Nandroid'd back to RebelRom in order to get a working device. Will someone look over my steps and tell me if I used the wrong file or installed the files in the wrong order? Here is the sequence of files that I installed (all via ClockWorkMod recovery v5.5.0.4b):

1. CM10 (cm-10-20121126-UNOFFICIAL-ancora_tmo.zip)
2. Gapps (gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip, I also have gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip, but I did not use the one dated 2012-10-11)
3. Quick Flash (Quickflash for JB4.1 v6.2a.zip)
4. Gapps (Step1-jb-4.2_roms_only_gapps-v2.zip)
5. JusTunBean Aroma (Step2-JusTunBean_aroma.v6.2.zip)

At this point (after step 5), the device worked fairly well, but I had neither "phone" nor "contacts" apps.

Between steps 2 and 3, the AOSP keyboard kept crashing, preventing me from signing into my Google account. I side-loaded a 4.2 keyboard APK which got me going, but Google login manager (or something similar) would crash right after I signed into my account.

I did NOT do a full wipe before step 1 because I was lazy and overly-optimistic. Before I start over with a full wipe prior to step 1, I want to be certain that I am installing the correct files in the correct order.

Is CM10 a 4.1.x or a 4.2.x rom?

Thank you for your time.

That is probably your issue there. You should always do a full wipe before flashing ROMs. Going from a Gingerbread (RebelROM) to a JB ROM requires a full wipe. Good thing you had a nandroid backup

I've tried a few more times, but performing a full wipe from recovery, with the same result.

This last time, I skipped steps 3, 4, and 5. Now I no longer get the "android.process.acore stopped working" issue, but I still get the AOSP KB issue (which I have a workaround for). This leads me to think that the problem is in my choice of gapps.

Will someone point me to a gapps that has worked for them with CM10 on the Exhibit II?

Where did you get the link to the ROM download? Usually, (not always), the dev recommends which gapps work best.

2. Gapps (gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip, I also have gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip, but I did not use the one dated 2012-10-11)
Just checked XDA and the gapps is the "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip"

Also steps 3, 4, and 5 are not necessary. All you need is to flash step 1 (the ROM) and step 2 (the gapps) through Clockword Mod recoovery

It is 4.1.2

I gave up on those files and switched to these:
CM10_LINARO_20130106_IRX120.zip
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Those worked without a hitch.

Glad you got it working. I had the Exhibit 4g and sold it and am now regretting it. I would have kept it had I known there would be a JB ROM working.

Don't be too jealous, Tube517, this ROM runs horribly slow.

If anyone has a CM10 rom that runs well, would you please provide links to the download so I can narrow down the problems I'm facing?
