Color Confusion!

Hi all,

I just developed my first game, Color Confusion http://bit.ly/kSX8go, and hope folks here get a chance to check it out. Any feedback is welcome.

My tesing group (wife and kids =) seem to really enjoy playing it.

We have an Asus Transformer, so optimizing for tablets/honeycomb was important to us.

Hmmm... permissions.
Why does it need full internet access? i'm guessing for ads, which is fair enough, but i cant even start to imagine why it needs phone state and identity.

Seriously, i'm not even going to think about installing it with those permissions.

daveybaby,

Thanks for the feedback.

You are correct on the internet permission, as it is used for ads. As for the phone permissions...I noticed that as well in my last build. The tool I used to build this game included that permission as a "default"...which I agree does not make sense. The game does not actually need or use that permission. I will compile a new build of the game that has an accurate list of permissions.

Look for a new build this week with your feedback included.

Thanks for taking time to check it out.

Thanks, will definitely make a point of checking it out then :)

daveybaby,

I made the update to Color Confusion based on your feedback, and just published it on the Android Market. It may take a few hours before you see it on the market....but it will be there...with the "whats new" section stating the fix.

Thanks again for your honest feedback....Color Confusion will be better because of it. Others probably had your same concern =)

Take care.

Gave it a go, great idea, nice little game.

Well, not that little. I do think 8MB (12 once installed) is one hell of a lot of storage for a puzzle game. Applaud your use of apps2sd, and i know youve got tablet res graphics in there, but even so i think you should look at what's going on in your code/graphics - something seems amiss to me. Also, 2MB of data? i have no idea what you could be storing that takes so much space.

Also, 10 levels doesnt seem that much for the full version. Maybe you could expand the game by having to mix more than 2 colours, e.g. 3 or even 4? Drag the pots onto a mixing tray instead of onto each other. Maybe also start the earlier levels with more primary colours and bring in the more subtle shades as the game progresses.

Hope you take that as the constructive criticism it's supposed to be :)
