comcast email

I have my comcast email account set up. I can receive incoming mail with no problem I cannot send outgoing mail. Here are the settings I'm using

smtp server smtp.comcast.net
port 465
security type ssl
requires signin not checked

I would drop comcast like its hot! Terrible customer service and pitifully antiquated website and email. Plus, if you should ever leave comcast, you lose your email account. Try yahoo.com or certainly gmail.com...ANYTHING other than comcast. Its time to move into the 90's.. GET AWAY FROM THE BULLY

I have no choice. Where I live in Philadelphia, Pa. The only choices for internet are Comcast, Hughes Satellite or dial up.
 
I have the same issue, although I have my settings as
smtp.comcast.net
port number 587 (I did try 25 also per comcast suggestion.)
My incoming email works perfectly fine but outgoing comes up with connection error.
Comcast says it is a verizon issue and Verizon says it is Comcast.
Can anyone help?

Nothing comes close to the speeds Comcast offers. Why even make this comment? He was asking for help with his email setup, not your opinion on whether or not he should keep Comcast. Comcast is blazing fast and they have great customer service.

As for the OP. I have the same setup as you and it's working fine for me. Sorry I can't help you. :confused:
 
I am using maildroid and it found all 3 of my comcast mail settings with no problems. Send and receives just fine. Hope this helps.
 
These settings work
smtp.comcast.net
Port number 465
Security SSL
Sign in Required checked
then enter user name and password
 
You can keep Comcast as your provider, but you don't have to (and shouldn't) use their email. Pick an email service that isn't ISP-dependent like GMail.
 
just download the app xfinity it is comcasts email app works great and its already configured just sign in with your comcast username and password..
