Help Comcast imap on ics

Got the ics update and now I can't get my Comcast imap email working...imap with comcast...says it can't connect to the server...wifes is working fine and mine worked last night...imap on Comcast..any ideas?

Reboot phone. Wipe cache, and data in settings> applications> manage applications> click on wanted app the clear data, clear cache.

Edit: try just rebooting phone first. It might work.
 
No dice...just keeps saying cannot connect to server. I can use the browser to log in but not any email service. No app called email in manage apps so I can't even clear the data
 
are we to understand that your wife's account works on her phone, or on your phone?

if a different comcast account works on your phone with the same settings, then your account is the problem and you'll need to contact comcast. if a different account doesn't work, contact comcast or contact motorola. verizon just verifies your data connection and that you can get to the email setup, they don't support your email.
 
I misspoke...my wifes works on her iphone, but mine now says cannot establish connection to server. Now that i'm home i can really look into it since i have a computer again.
 
OK, got it fixed. Don't know why, but I guess I had to be on wifi for it to connect. Must be some security setting. Connected to my wifi at home, everything set up nicely, disconnected wifi, and my email sync's just like it should. Very strange, but as long as it works i'm good.
 
Personal or business Comcast email account?

VZW specifically says personal email on the data plan. Those that want to use good or gude or whatever it is to attach to a corp network have to have VZW modify their account for access.

Sucks because there not unlimited data on those business plans anymore, so I just use webmail to access my corp account.
 
Personal mail...and I was wrong...only get email when on wifi..have all the settings right just no email without wifi
 
check with comcast. I've heard of some email providers that ONLY work when connected to their service.

for testing, I added my comcast account normally (no special settings) and hit an error. connected to wifi, added and accessed just fine.

my guess- comcast changed something. doesnt impact me because I dont use comcast on my phone ... not even their shoddy xfinity app.
 
I must add...does exactly the same if i try to set it up pop3...no communication with server unless i'm on wifi....grrrr
 
very odd and irritating, since it worked fine before I got the update. Only workaround is to use the xfinity app...guess I'll just do that. Saw elsewhere that other people lost data connection to it as well, and get it only on wifi.
