Compare to Nexus 5

Just wondered if anyone had owned both the Nexus 5 and the OnePlus One, and could advise on how they compare?

Would it be worth switching from N5 or waiting For N6 or OnePlus Two?

Thanks in advance

I have both and can say that if I could only have one, it would the the One.

In favor of the N5:
* Lighter
* Smaller and grippier
* Camera better in low light
* The first device to get Android updates

In favor of the One
* More attractive design and premium feel
* An extra 0.5" of screen realestate on a beautiful LCD
* 4x the storage for the same money (64GB vs 16GB)
* Battery life kills the N5

The most important thing is going to be how well you can handle a bigger device.

Is the OnePlus significantly bigger than the N5?

You mentioned battery life, is it a lot better on the OnePlus?

That's what I was trying to communicate.

Cheers for the info. Those battery stats are impressive. I think I can handle the size difference as it doesnt seem too much.
Just need to decide whether to change now or wait for the OnePlus Two to be released

According to OnePlus, we'll be waiting until 2015 for the next phone.

I have both. I'd like to use my OnePlus as my primary phone, however the company has little regard for the customer based on personal experience. My emails have been ignored and gone unanswered a very frustrating experience, yet not unique. Three of us at work who have problems all have been ignored thus far.

Conversely Google has been easy to reach, giving immediate help and solutions. If this was the case with OnePlus I'd have the confidence to use them.

It looks and feels a lot bigger than the Nexus 5 in person. Both phones are great though. But because of the size of the OPO I wouldn't be comfortable yet bringing it out of the apartment to use as my phone while out, fear of fumbling and dropping it. But the 64 GB storage is great! :D

I was going to go from Nexus 5 to 1+1. I have read about CS...:thumbdown:. I will wait until company gets up and going for my $350. Don't get me wrong , I am a phone fiend. Got an invite, and was itching all day. I decided to put CM11 on my Nexus 5. I will be content for another month or so, by then there should be something out there to work with.

Yeah! 😁 There will be great things coming. I'm looking forward to seeing and reading about the new Nexus among other phones. The OPO is terrific but maybe you need a gambler attitude for now, lol. I'm not a gambler but I decided to throw my trust towards the universe. I got two invites in a day so I couldn't say no the second time. Glad I didn't. Just hope everything stays good, lol. 😀

I've personally had three of the 1+1's shipped to me & I'm here to cast three votes for a great experience.

None of the handsets I've ordered have had any issues whatsoever.

There'll be lemons in every mfg process.
Human nature being what it is,you'll hear more negative than positive,especially in forums such as these,whose main purpose is to provide support w/all related issues.

Getting a quality handset isn't a crapshoot.
If it were, OnePlus wouldn't be scrapping the invite system next month to make way for pre-orders.

That's really what I've been thinking too. It's natural to see more complaints on forums than reports that it's perfect. The only problems I've had are with Cyanogen which they might fix soon. Pinch to zoom, and knock on doesn't work a very few times (but I love it!!!). Otherwise my OPO is perfect. :D
