Ok so I went from an iphone 2g to the 3g. Got boored of att and apple so I tried out the BB storm and Storm2. Those are also gone now and I have a brandnew Droid comming in a few days from Verizon. I know NOTHING about this phone other than that it looks cool and most people I talk to that own one say its the cats meow. So here are a few questions.

1. Is there some sort of program that you can install on your Windows PC where you can sync your MP3s or your itunes music with the Droid. i.e. blackberry has desktop manager and apple obviously has itunes.

2. If I want to upgrade the OS, is this done OTA or over the air? Or again, is there some sort of program that does it with the droid connected to the PC?

3. Are MOST of the apps from the market free like everyone says they are?

4. My wife just got her new Motorola Devour, and it seems to be running the android software, so if there is some sort of program to sync it with will her devour work with it too?

Thanks in advance, and man I cant wait to get this thing.

You know there is a new Droid phone coming out on Verizon in 2 weeks right? It's called the Incredible. Much better phone, unless you prefer a physical keyboard. If you want to return it, there's only like a $35 restocking fee or something. Questions answered:

1. MediaMonkey Free Media Jukebox, Music Manager, CD Ripper & Converter

2. OTA = Over the Air. And yes, that's how it is updated.

3. Yep, most are free. The games are the ones that usually cost money.

4. Why would you want to sync it with her devour? Is there a specific task you want to achieve?

Hope this helps.

Actually I dont want to sync WITH her devour, but I want a program that will sync with my phone to add music and such that will also work with her phone too. Not at the same time.

1. There is a app called double twist that will interface with itunes and sync your music to any android phone(yours & your wifes). However to be honest I prefer mounting my Nexus and click & dragging my music files over personally.

2. As mentioned about OTA is over the air :D

3. There's alot of great free apps as well as some good paid apps. I would say right now it's about 65/35 - free/paid. The best way is to go through the top 2-3 android forums and search for must have apps.

4. Double Twist and you can set multiple profiles.

There are quite a few apps for syncing with iTunes. Double Twist is mentioned above. iTunes Agent is what I use. I think there's another called Sailing Media Sync. If you search you'll probably find even more.

No program but for the last 2 updates people have distributed the update which you can places on the SD card to manually update.

No idea. Some apps are free. Some aren't.

Definitely read up on the various Android forums sites. There's a lot of useful info out there.

Better is always subjective. Personally, I'm not a fan of HTC's devices based on ppersonal experience. YMMV, of course.
