Help Complete shut off -- nothing

SD Buff

Newbie
On hold with Verizon right now - but figured I would ask the question.

Went to bed last night with 80% charge. Woke up this morning to absolutely nothing. Power button does nothing, charging it does nothing. Anyone heard of an issue like this before? Assuming its the battery ??

Verizon fixed it. Apparently its a known issue with Motorola devices they just hibernate or shut off randomly? Anyway, 30 second hold of power and volume down got the boot screen and it powered on -- 77% battery. So just some random glitch.....

Can honestly say thats never happened to any stock Moto devices I've owned or my friends have owned. It's only happened once and that was from running a buggy CM10.1 on the RHD (not Moto's fault). I'd say replace it, that's pretty unacceptable.

Also you only need to hold power and volume down for like 7 or 8 seconds, it's a simulated battery pull, since these phones dont have removable batteries.

Thanks Xelios. If it happens again, I will look into replacing it. Scared the hell out of me this morning -- not a week I can be without this phone.

This happened to my wife's Razr HD yesterday. She brought the phone to me and wanted to know what was wrong. Forced reboot by holding down the power and volume down buttons and everything is good. That was the first time her phone has done this and hopefully the last.

I'm with Xelios on this one, return it for another RMHD. If it was my phone(which serves as my alarm clock) and that happened, it would be returned that day for another device; wouldn't care if it was a one time thing. Good luck to you though hopefully it will not happen to you again.
