My girlfriend has a line, apparently, the "main" line on her family's AT&T family plan, but we want to switch her over to my Verizon family plan (and get her a nice Android phone, since she's constantly damning her AT&T quickfire POS) and since I have no experience with AT&T, I don't know how complicated this might be.
I don't think their contract is up for a few months, and that's fine, we're not really in any hurry. I was also thinking... if it makes things simpler ... that she could port her existing number to Google Voice, instead of directly to AT&T, so that if we ever leave Verizon, she can still keep her number. That also would let us get the Verizon ball rolling whenever we want, i.e. when some awesome sale happens or anytime before their contract is up, as long as she doesn't mind carrying a couple phones and we don't mind double paying until we can actually port the number without an ETF.
The real question is, how much trouble is it going to be to remove the "main" number from an AT&T family account?
