Composing and Queuing Email Without Coverage?

Spurred on by the ongoing Google server Certificate issue, I probably buying an HTC Eris for my Verizon account tonight.

Is there an App for the Eris (Droid 1.5) That will allow me to compose and que emails and/or text messages while not connected to the Verizon network? This is useful in NYC where there's little coverage in the subway, and also, I suppose, in a Plane.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas/Happy 2010!

I believe you can do this without any need for another app.

You should be able to go to the default sms app , Write your message and click send...... Then when signal comes back it will send.

The same with the default Gmail app I beleive :)

Thanks, however, at the very least, the "send" does not take place automatically once coverage is re-acquired; one must actively do something to send; this would not be necessarily with, e.g., Apple Mail, Outlook, or the iPhone/iPod Touch software.

On the otherhand, most tech sales people, including Verizon sales people strike me as not very bright, so maybe I was misinformed...
