computer problems

[Android Question]

My android phone wont connect to the computer so i cant put any song on it and i need to, I plugged my phone in the computer and waited and it never did anything so i unplugged and replugged it and it never worked and i dont know what to do, please help, it would be much appriciated, thanks

When you plug it in do you see a USB icon in your phones notification pull down? You would want to pull notification window down, click the USB icon (which may say 'charge only') and that will send you to a screen that lets you choose to connect as a disk drive.

Once you hit 'as a disk drive' (or something similar) hit OK and you *should* see a prompt on PC.

If you don't see the auto-play option on PC then check in Start>Computer>to see if a removable drive is shown. You will know it is your phone by the size of the removable drive. For a 16gb phone the drive will show 12gb or so....

Hi and welcome to the forums. Without further info on device model and the operating system you are using on your pc I cant give very detailed info but I can give you the usual tips for windows based pc setup and troubleshooting. First be sure you have the device usb drivers installed. You can google them by searching for terms " Device model usb drivers". Replacing "device model" in search terms with the name of your device. If you are able to locate the device driver package,install it and reboot pc. Plug in the device and usb storage as well as other device functions should work fine. If not,then it could be a device to pc cable issue. Or it could be the cable port on the device causing issues.


edit: And what NightAngel said also. You will see on the device end the usb connect notification on your device. Click it and your connection to the pc should be complete. Now to go finish my coffee and finish putting my thinking cap on..never answer help questions without your morning joe people..carry on. lol
