Based on the first half of his term, how is your confidence level with President Obama. Taking into consideration all his that he has done since his first day in office.

What has the president actually done since his inauguration, got your list ready? Further, what did he promise us that has yet to happen? Further, is there any reason to believe anything he says going forward?

I agree Bob, but I was asking folks just to make a mental list of it and then vote. We know where you and I stand :D

I discussed this very issue last week with a few friends. One friend's GF mentioned how Obama created all of these new jobs. She cited how the demands on unemployment insurance dropped significantly, thus proving Obama created these jobs.

She was informed that the reason there were/are fewer demands is the money is gone and Obama has not created any jobs. I occasionally stop my crazy spending and become more thrifty. You know a 20 year old single malt rather than 70 years and domestic salmon rather than a rather nice scottish import. But not because I am learning thrift; the money is gone so I can't spend.

Same idea, I should think.

Obama has done nothing worth mentioning, except force us to buy health insurance and he took over an automobile company. He has not closed GITMO; a promise he made as I recall.

So I have zero faith in our president.

That said, perhaps we needed Obama. We perhaps need a wild do nothing liberal to show us what happens when a liberal becomes the single most powerful man on the planet's surface.

Unemployment numbers may be down, but how much of that reflects the vast amount of folks coming off unemployment benefits and can't reapply and now are SOL.

Like you said, the accomplishments are close to zero. I expect a politician to go back on his work once in office, and Obama did just that and more. Ever single issue that fought for and promised during his campagin, he broke not even a year into office. Yet, he still has a base to rally behind him still chanting "he walked into a huge mess", "give him time", etc. If he was a president of a private company, he would have been canned by now for all his antics.

he's not my president, but I voted undecided... I don't think there is any leader of mine I'd say I'm highly confident in

I don't have any confidence in any government that makes laws for the people that don't apply to the lawmakers, can give themselves raises when the country's broke, and will deny salary and benefits to our soilders because they have to bicker over a budget.

Honestly, knowing now how big of a whole the last 10 years have dug for us. I am just happy we no longer considering it possible to still keep digging.

Everything he said before the election was on the idea that the last president did not nurf us into the ground. He has been playing clean up after the republican.

Everything that he as done so far at least keeps the money in the united states and helps people in the united states.

Bush spent year in other countries, nation building. At least obama is trying to build a nation here and not 5,000 miles away.

You can say a lot about him, but for the last 2 years he keep the train on the tracks and moving in the right directions. The economy is recovering. Every quarter we produce a little more then last quarter and every quarter we hire more people then last quarter.

So you can say a lot about the guy that got us out of the ditch and nothing about the guy that got us into the ditch. But you have to say we are better off now then we where 2 years ago.

edit but I will say this...

How The U.S. Economy Performed Under Democratic and Republican Presidents – Currency Thoughts
the economy, stock markets, other financial number improve with democrats alot more then republicans.

He's bombing Libya, and told Brazil we would help them develop off shore oil production so we could buy it from them.
