Configuring Google Voice on VZW

When I try to set up GV on my D4 (I've also had the same result on my sisters Inc4G), I will get all the way to the point where you call that number that configures the GV number as your default voicemail number. The I get an error reading " Unfortunately your network carrier is currently not supported for automatic voicemail configuration."

So VZW doesn't support voice like Sprint does, I get that. But I never had this problem with previous phones.

Anybody successfully configured their GV to work on a VZW phone after this error? I only want to use voice for voicemail, not calls/texting.

I think you just need to find the number you dial to tell the Verizon system what your voicemail number is. It should be asterisk [some number] then the number of the voice mail you want to use (in my case, my Google Voice number).

Now that I think about it, I think its *71[Google voice number].
