Help confused about recieving calls

prdmum

Lurker
I activated a Samsung galaxy precedent and kept my phone number. Same provider, and it is a straight phone. The only problem I am having is receiving phone call. Friends say that it rings once and straight to voice mail. I am not computer nor droid savvy. I don't have another phone to call straight talk and they cant walk me though it with me on this one. I went though the call settings and the volume is up and everything. As far as I know I am receiving text ok. Can someone please help out this old lady that wishes she still had a rotary phone. They were not confusing at all. This new phone is gonna take a lot of learning for me.

Contact your service provider. They can set the ring length for you from their end.

Actually, it can be set from your phone, but exactly how varies depending on what network you're on. Because you're using Straight Talk and they don't own a network but rather resell service they buy from all 4 of the major providers, we can't tell whose network you're actually using or how to set your ring duration. Only Straight Talk knows. So...you have to have them set it.
