Connect 7" Matricom .TAB Nero to Sprint Smartphone

Looking for information about tethering a Matricom .TAB Nero (7") to a Sprint smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Epic and/or Galaxy S3). USB tether appears to be MTP only. OTG cables in various combinations including a Y with power supply don't seem to work either.

USB tethering works from both the smartphones to Windows PC. We are using after market hotspot software to enable internet access for other devices via the smartphone(s).
Product works for wifi on Epic but not S3.

I can't seem to find any tablet specific content anywhere. I have found rooting information for the Samsung phones and that may be an option to enable wifi via the S3 instead.

I suspect that this is a difficult question and that is why nobody has answered.

I would suggest continuing to try WiFi tethering software. I don't think USB tethering is going to be practical for mobile to mobile tethering. There are many different tethering apps and you may need to try all of them before you find the one that will work for you. I've found Barnacle to be effective when other apps fail, but it's not all that great.
