Connect two android mobile each other with wifi

is there is any possibility to connect two mobile with wifi..and the other question is that....can we create adhoc in android ph....plz rply soon as possible

New version of File expert has some type of wifi file transfer that they say no AP/router is needed, just 2 devices with file expert I haven't tried it though.
