I've just got my OTG cable and tried my wired 360 controler (and yeah, it's an official microsoft one).
Unfortunately, it lights up for a split second then goes dead again and doesn't work.
The cable works for USB storage, and the 360 controler works fine with my PC. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the custom rom/kernel I'm using.
EDIT: I posted that, pluged it in again and it worked first time - sod's law.
I'm guessing that a connection was loose somewhere. The OTG cable was super cheap and it's already very loose; the metal USB socket and the plastic around it aren't even connected and you end up pulling out the metal when you remove whatever you've plugged in.
It is easy to get a BAD OTG cable. Way too easy.

I went for this one, which was a recommendation from a fellow user here:

In fact, lots and lots of different sellers had that exact one.
