I have a tablet running Android 6.0.1. When I try to get online it displays the above. My other devices work OK. I've searched all the setting s but can't fix it. Any ideas?

Knowing which tablet and specs (Storage/Memory/ processor etc.) may well help. But when I've had that message it means that I'm connected to my Wi-Fi, but cannot get out onto the internet. What I find helps is to delete your Wi-Fi, reboot the tablet and reconnect. If that doean't help, it's worth rebooting your router, as maybe it can't get its IP address from your ISP (If you don't have a fixed IP address and the lease is up on your current one, rebooting the router will get you a new ip address with a new lease (typically 28 days or so).

Have you tried restarting both your tablet and your router? That should be the first thing to try. Yes you referred to your other devices being OK but networking is much more complex than that, especially when it involves all the variables that are tied to WiFi connectivity.

Also, have you tried using your tablet elsewhere? (i.e. at a friend's home or work) If your tablet cannot get online access just at home that might indicate a router issue to look into, if your tablet cannot get online access using a different WiFi network that might indicate a problem with your tablet.

Interestingly enough, I have had this issue even when sitting next to another device that is streaming and working fine.

Typically what I do first is turn the Wi-Fi off on the non-functioning device, then turn it back on.

If that fails, then I reboot the device, and if It is still not working I reboot the router.

I've experienced the same thing recently--even posted about it! Two phones, literally side by side, out of the blue one of them loses its Internet connection. It's still connected to Wi-Fi, still connected to my network, but without Internet connectivity. Since ALL other devices in the house continue working fine, it can't be a router/modem/Wi-Fi network/Internet service problem, as I see it. Therefore, doing things like rebooting routers/modems/etc. has no effect.

For me, it tends to happen at night--and I take it as a hint to put the damn phone down and wind things up for the night! By morning, it's "fixed" itself again. *shrug*

No, and you won't. I mean, at least in my case, there is nothing wrong, therefore there's nothing to fix. Every setting is exactly the same as right now, as I type this...but it loses its Internet connection.

Don't get me wrong, though. Doing all those things won't hurt anything and may, for you, solve the problem. So by all means, follow the advice given in this thread--just know that, for me, none of it makes the slightest difference.
