Help Connecting Google Drive to Android? Already connected but it's showing two different accounts

I feel like I'm missing something and it's driving me up the walls.
My correct Google account is hooked up in my Google Settings, however when I go to my Files app, my other Google account that doesn't have upgraded storage is the default and there is no option to switch.
Please refer to photos attached.
For as long as I've had this phone I haven't been able to get the gist of android entirely, sorry if this is an obvious problem, it's not for me :(

Phone: S8
Running latest software update for S8

Welcome to Android Forums, Affydingus! :)
My correct Google account is hooked up in my Google Settings, however when I go to my Files app, my other Google account that doesn't have upgraded storage is the default and there is no option to switch.
We'll help you get this sorted out! Using a browser, go to drive.google.com, press the 3-line menu in the upper left corner. You should see your Gmail address with a drop-down arrow by it. Press it. What do you see? You should have various options, like choosing another account, managing accounts, etc. If everything looks good there, let's move on.

You mentioned your 'Files' app. It may just suck! :o A good file manager lets you add/change/remove all the accounts you want. My personal favorite is MiXplorer Silver, and I highly recommend it. But there are many others to choose from. Install one, then go about setting up its cloud storage accounts. You will be prompted for your account credentials in order for it to connect. As long as you supply the correct account's credentials, you should be good to go.

From your description it sounds like the 'Files' app has just been inadvertently set up so it's tied to the incorrect Google account. The issue being that while your phone did get linked to your primary Google account whenever you first set it up way back, you can install apps that 'might' link to your primary Google account by default, most of them can be set up to link to whichever online service you prefer -- i.e. if you install an email app you have the option to tie it to a different GMail email and/or other third-party email services, along with your primary Gmail email.
If you look into the settings menu of that Files app itself, are you sure there's no option to change which Google account it links itself to? If not, go into your phone's Settings >> Apps menu, find and open the Files app entry, tap on the Force stop button, and then find and tap on the Clear data button. Using Clear data will wipe the app's setting configuration files, essentially returning the app back to its original, first-time used state. Start up the Files app and it should prompt you with the initial setup process so you can tie it to your primary Google account this time.
