how do i connect my samsung galaxy y to a lenovo ideapad....i have a dongle for internet access and and am using windows xp as operating ststem...please help!!!!

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.
I think I might need some more information from you. Are you trying to connect your Samsung Galaxy Y to your computer to download/upload songs or pictures, or are you trying to use your phone as a modem?
If you are trying to use your phone to download/upload media, connect your phone to your computer using the usb/charging cable that came with your phone. Drag your notification down from the top and select the usb symbol. Turn on Mass Media and your phone should be connected.
You may need to install the proper driver to your computer.
