Help Connecting PS3 controller to android TV 5.1

Hello!

I am trying to hookup a PS3 controller on my android tv box using android 5.1
I have tried the sixaxis compatibility checked but it seems to fail when i run the program,

When i first looked up how to do this the videos all make it look easy and plug and play but for some reason I am not getting anywhere with this!
If anyone has any tips on this or can help me out that would be greatly appreciated!

Is your box 'rooted'? Unless it is, it isn't gonna happen, sorry. Try the PS4 controller.

Sideloading the Sixaxis Controller .apk may trick your system... but your Android TV box still needs to be rooted because of the way the two devices are 'paired.'

Im not sure what it means to root your system, so i guess it is not!

Are PS3 controllers not compatible with this?
