Help Connecting Samsung phone with Samsung Smart TV

Hello everyone, Recently I have been trying to use screen mirroring on my Samsung phone with my Samsung Smart TV. Both devices are connected to the same wifi, but every time I try to connect the two, it says the connection to tv failed, or something like that. Also, I downloaded the Samsung Smart View App, and I haven't been able to connect the two.

Devices: Samsung Galaxy S3, 2017 Samsung Smart TV.

Thank you,
Bell

Regarding that Samsung Smart View app, in its Play Store page there's a listing of officially supported TVs, with only one model shown for 2017 -- ULS003U. Is this the one you have?
If not, have you tried any other, third-party screen mirroring apps?

On your S3, buried in Settings >> Connections menu there should be a 'Screen Mirroring' option. Is that enabled or disabled?

You stated that both your phone and TV are connected to the same WiFi network. Just to confirm that, check your router's settings page, there should be an option with a name similar to 'connected devices' or something like that. Or you can install a basic network scanning app like this 'Network Utilities' to view all the connected devices to your home LAN:
