Connecting SG3 to PC

Im trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S3 to my PC to put my videos on my computer but it wont connect to the PC...i tried to do the download mode but it didnt work.
 
Download mode won't help. Go to the Samsung website and download the latest USB drivers to your computer. Then connect the phone to your computer using the original USB cable or a known good one that carrier through all pins end-to-end (some don't). If still no joy, try rebooting your computer (first) and then (if needed) toggle the "USB debugging" state on your phone.
 
I'm having the same issue. Phone is charging when connected but cant transfer files as it wont show up on computer. I have been at this all day and have tried every possible solution except a factory reset which I am not doing. I know I can backup my files but im not going to bother with that! Really dissapointed as this just happened today, Ive never had this problem before!
 
Okay erm ive tried - restarting the pc & mobile, removed battery & sim and put them back in, deleted and reinstalled correct drivers, deleted and reinstalled samsung kies but even that doesnt recognise my phone. I seen something about a download mode thing and tried that earlier and it still didnt work. This is the first time my phone has did this:(
