Help connecting tablet and tv

I'm trying to connect my android tablet to my TV in order to watch iplayer etc. but instead of a HDMI port my TV has RCA (red yellow white). My tablet has a micro usb port and a micro hdmi port. I bought an RCA to USB cable and a USB to microUSB adaptor, but when I plug these in nothing happens and the tv says 'no signal'. Do I need to use different cables/adapters or am I doing something else wrong?

Forget anything associated with the usb port.

The only video output you have is on the micro HDMI port and it's digital.

Your TV wants an analog input.

Cables that claim to do that conversion are ripoffs.

You need a converter. Here's one example -

That all looks basically right to me.

Things to watch out for -

You've selected a mini HDMI to HDMI cable - be sure that your tablet has a mini HDMI port and not a micro HDMI port.

Check if you can how the adapter may handle wide-screen vs standard sizes. I expect that that would just work (letterbox or something) but try to check if you can.
