hi i am unable to connect to kies air and when i try to update my fone it keeps sayn connect to kies can u help please

Hi,
here are the instructions to connect to kies air.
If you want to update your device via kies you will need Samsung Kies for your PC. Found here.

I would try the following:
If you can, make sure you are using the original cable that came with your phone. Some after-market cables can be great for charging but flaky when it come to data transfer.
Power off and on both the device and the computer before you connect your device to your computer. Kies is not the best piece of software so doing this might help. You could try a different USB port on your computer and please also make sure you are connected to the internet (it sounds silly but these things are worth checking just to make sure).
If that doesn't work, if you can, try a different computer. I have an issue with one of my computers that no matter how much I try to connect my Galaxy S2 phone and download drivers, it won't connect. I go to another computer and boom, no issues.
Download your device drivers manually for your device. You can get them from The Samsung Website
Uninstall, reboot computer and reinstall Kies might work too.
If none of this works, please create another guest question as you cannot respond to this one. Remember to include any of the things you've done from the list above though as this will help us narrow down your issue further.
Alternatively, and probably more of a useful option, would be to register on the forums using the link in my signature below and post up a question in the forum dedicated to your Samsung device.
