Connecting to work wifi

Maztech

Newbie
I'm new to tasker and for my first profile I'm in need of help.

I work at a retail store that has free wifi for anyone to use. The problem with it is that you can only stay connected for an hour then you have to reconnect.
To reconnect I have to open a browser widow and accept the terms and conditions.

Is it possible to build a profile the can see the wifi connect to it then open a browser window and accept the terms automatically?

Do you have to complete any CAPTCHA when you connect? Because if you do, that would probably make it pretty much impossible to use something like Tasker. I've never used Tasker myself though.

If you are rooted, you can simulate a tap at a given location on the screen using the tasker shell command to invoke the input command

I don't believe there is a captch the opening screen has the terms and conditions that you have to accept to get connected.

Presumably you have to scroll to the bottom of a long page of T&C legalese, which assumes you've read it, and hit an "Agree" button. Not sure if you can automate web-page navigation with Tasker, although as I've said I've never used it. Someone else might know.:thumbsupdroid:

No scrolling need you just have check the accept terms and select connect

One of the reasons that I got tasker was so I wouldn't have to root my phone
Tasker and root both help make more things possible with your phone, but they do different things. Tasker can do more with root. (of course I understand there are lots of reasons people have for not wanting to root...personal choice).

I think autoinput http://joaoapps.com/autoinput/ might be able to do the tap without root. I don't use it myself.

Just curious here, but why would you want your phone connected to a WiFi that "anyone" can use? My building has two WiFi connections available, one is password protected and not to be used for personal devices. The other is open and free for anyone to use. I have no desire to risk connecting my phone to that network. So at work I use my data, albeit sparingly and save WiFi for home.
