Connecting USB flash drive to my Droid Incredible 2

Lurker
My curiosity got me wondering- is it possible to plug in a flash drive into my phone? Would my phone be able to read it? Obviously I'll need an adapter to try to make it happen and they do exist. Has anyone tried this before?

It would only be possible if the phone itself is capable. Its sort of both a hardware and software limitation. The SGS2 can do it, and the more recent Android tablets running Honeycomb 3.1.

How?

Running ICS

Tried Astro with powered USB hub

Searched web

Only some phones can read externally mounted USB devices without rooting.

My HTC EVO isn't one of them.
