Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code

I am using a BSNL (India) prepaid SIM as SIM 1 in the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos phone. To check the Main Account balance if I dial *123#, the reply message is correctly displayed on the screen.

However when I dial *112#, the message on the screen is displayed as Reply 1 for Main Balance, 2 for GPRS, .......... 6 to receive all STV balance by SMS. Now whatever response i submit an error message pops up "Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code". I have done hard reset of the device also, but the same problem continues.

Please help in solving this problem.

I too faced the similar problem and i just restarted my smart phone and it restored its balance enquiry functions back to normal.
OR
You can also take out your SIM once and replace back to its place in the mobile.
If none of the above is working, contacting customer care(of both n/w provider and mobile company) may help in solving the problem
