Ok currently I have a galexy s3 and ibhave a chance to get a new phone. The evo 4g lte was the phone I considered before the s3 because I had used the evo since since the first. My question to you guys is is there any noticable difference between the evo and s3? And as for roms are there plenty stable builds? And whats the battery life people have been able to get from the evo both rooted and messed with and stock?

I had an S2, hunk of junk compared to LTEvo. Battery life is AMAZING, the best battery life of any Android phone I've owned yet. I've handled the S3 in the stores, to me the Samsung phones just feel cheap and "plasticky" compared to the excellent build quality (mostly aluminum like an iPhone) of the LTEvo.

There's about a gazillion comparison vids for the S3 vs LTEvo on Youtube, check 'em out for more info.....

I agree. Samsung's feel like cheap plastic compared to HTC built phones. Plus I prefer sense over touchwiz. However, you can't go wrong with either. Samsung's are still great phones too.

Check the rom listing thread in our root forum, everyone has varying opinions on what's a lot of roms. I doubt you'll be disappointed, whether you prefer AOSP or Sense. When you buy it, insist that you don't want them to update your software, some revisions are better for getting s-off, something that you'll want in addition to the bootloader unlock.

I get 8 hours of screen on time on wifi, and average 16 hours per charge, rooted or stock.

You should find screen performance in sunlight better than the SGS3. Personally, I think that this phone has far more natural colors as well.

Hope this helps! :)
