Help Considering buying...

Hey all,

I have just been browsing around for phones to replace my knackered Sony Ericsson and have been incredibly tempted by a smartphone.

Initially it was between the g1 and the iPhone, but the styling of the g1 really didnt get me going...

Now I have discovered the gorgeous Magic and just want to know a few things.

How are people finding coverage (3g and otherwise) throughout the UK on Vodafone?

Also, I heard someone mention a limit on data transfer, any ideas what sort of limit is imposed?

I've had a phone on Vodafone for about 9 years, and rarely have a problem with coverage. Since getting a 3G phone 18months ago, I can say that I'm still pleased, and normally have good coverage.

This is based on working all over the UK, and using the phone a lot.

As for data usage, IIRC, there is a 'fair use' policy of 500Mb/month. I've never hit that, despite trying quite hard. Although I'm sure if I ever did some downloading, I'd break the limit.

Now the Magic. I like it, but it's not perfect.
