Wow, I guess I'm not alone for once. After waiting for the S6 and looking it over in both configurations, I also bought the S5. I wanted the replaceable battery and the SD card. I thought that the S6 was too thin and the Edge was uncomfortable in my hand. Actually all the hype for the S6 and the metal body was crazy to me since nearly everyone I know, including me, puts their phones in a case anyway which is generally plastic. I love the S5. Coming from an HTC I had to adjust to the UI but it is fine. My only complaint is that Verizon forced updated me to 5.0 so I now have to root the phone and get it back to 4.4.4. Lollipop has an ugly color scheme, at least for my taste and after the update my battery does not last as long.
Now, I am not the typical phone aficionado. I'm definitely not a power user. All I do is call people, text, email, surf the internet, use google maps, listen to music, check the news, take and send pictures and videos, have conference calls, use a mobile hot spot, and some technical apps for work, etc. so I don't really need all the new S6 features. And I sure as hell don't need lollipop. However I'm just a feeble minded old codger who really doesn't know what I'm talking about. YMMV.
Have a great day everyone!
