Help contact edit will not show picture

Claims it saves, but no picture appears.
Android 4.0

I went into the apps, scrolled to all, and I see 2 contact related apps.
They have data, I wonder if deleting the data there would reset something, maybe then pictures would appear?

You should have an app called contacts. Use that.

The contact app does not show any picture image after going through the procedure to put an image associated with a contact using the contact app.
Other things about the contact app function fine, just the pictures never show.

Other idea I have is how about downloading a contact app, filename.apk? Perhaps mine is damaged?
Although the phone might have to be rooted for that.

Phone OS has a bug, it is broke, defective somehow, not my brain. I know how to follow directions.
