Hi guys. I'm trying to find out how to put my contact info on the lock screen of my GTC One M7.

That was supposed to read HTC One M7 obviously. I've been trying to find that feature but can't. If I lose my phone and some good samaritan finds it, they won't know how to find me because the phone is locked.
Seems like basic functionality so it must be there somewhere.

It may depend what software version you had, though I've used custom software for most of the last 2 years so can't recall what the stock features are.

If you have a version which supports widgets on the lockscreen then you could use something like Zooper, Simple Text or Minimalistic Text to make a widget with your email address.

If you have a version which does not support this (and the latest Android versions do not) I can think of two options:

1) Look for a replacement lockscreen in the Play Store which does allow you to do this

2) Use an image editing program to add your contact info to an image and use that as your lockscreen wallpaper.

I am using a custom ROM which allows me to customise the "carrier name" text on the lockscreen, so I replace that with my email address (not the GMail address I use with the phone - no point helping the bad guys!). But I'm certain that isn't an option with the stock software.

Currently running 4.4.3 with Sense 6.0. Seems strange that it isn't a stock feature like it is with most other devices.

It isn't with most devices any more - lock screen widgets were removed from stock android in 5.0.

But that's android: all manufacturers customise things in their own ways, and their decisions don't always make sense to the end user. Though to be fair to HTC a place to put contact info on the lockscreen has not been a standard feature of the stock android lockscreen whenever I've used an AOSP ROM either.

An easy way to do it is create a simple text file, take a screenshot of it and go to :-

Settings-Personalize-Lockscreen wallpaper-Use custom wallpaper

which gives you the option to select your screenshot.

I just created this one in a couple of minutes on my stock M7, 5.0.2/Sense 6.0, but I'm not sure whether the options are the same with 4.4.3, it's not something I've looked at before. :)
